Your Pioneer 505 Metal Detector incorporates patented microprocessor-controlled technology. The Pioneer 505 is a motion detector; movement over an object is required in order for the machine to detect the object and emit a tone. Alternatively, you can sweep a metal object over a motionless search coil. The Bounty Hunter Pioneer 505 is a great detector that incorporates patented microprocessor-controlled technology to detect coins up to 10 inches deep, and larger objects up to four feet.

Bounty Hunter 505,
It’s a surprisingly good detector at a great price. I hunt parks, playgrounds and private residences and for that use the detector has proved to be a good purchase for me.
My other detector an ACE 250 which I bought after reading the rave reviews, has disappointed me in a couple of ways, primarily pinpointing and inaccurate target ID. The Bounty does both superbly and in addition has extraordinary sensitivity and really picks up those deep coins. In short if I spend x number of hours in the field with each detector I will dig a lot more coins (and have) with the Bounty Hunter.
The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that on my machine when you turn the discriminate all the way down, the detector powers down. Since I haven’t had a need to operate with zero discrimination this has not been a problem for me but for some it would be. Probably a simple fix if I sent it to the factory but I haven’t been willing to part with the machine to do that.
I bought separately the small coil for it and that was a good purchase and adds to the versatility of the machine. I am able to get up right close to chain link fences, playground equipment and metal benches and hunt along them which is a nice capability to have. It also makes the already easy pinpointing with the 505 even more of a snap.
For the money I think the BH 505 is an excellent purchase for the beginning to intermediate user and a good backup machine.

Was torn between the Bounty hunter 505 and the Garrett ACE 250. After making my decision I was very happy with Bounty Hunter 505.. It is a Great metal detector for the whole family!! This metal detector is very user friendly and works excellent. All it takes is turn it on and go..The price is very affordable and the machine compares with some of the big guns on the market. Best of all it finds lots of treasures!!! You will be very pleased with this product!! Happy Hunting!!!

|pioneer hunter 505 metal detector,
This metal detector doesn’t work as well as hyped. I’m disappointed. I was detecting with another person who was using another type detector and he followed behind me and found two brass metal buttons that this detector total dissed.
